Amy Omand
People come to me for:
Nonprofit financial management best practices -- from streamlining transactional processing, to understanding and interpreting financial statements, or planning financially for the future, I can provide sound advice from 20+ years experience leading finance teams of nonprofits.
I love working with:
Both the founders and leaders of nonprofits that may need some additional capacity to manage the finances, but also operations personnel that are the the ones rolling up their sleeves to make the organization function - I love demystifying finances and making insights accessible to all!
Hiking in the Marin Headlands with her two dogs, Cleo and Bernard
My fave ways to find joy + ease:
I love being outside -- hiking, rock climbing, rowing or paddleboarding. My family also really enjoys going to see live music - we last saw The National at the Greek theater
Why Helia loves Amy:
Amy brings it ALL together - experience, a love of numbers, a thoughtful process AND deep respect for the humans. One of our fave quotes from her Helia Library article: “We often treat budgeting like a solo exercise in Excel. But the best budgets are the ones people help build—and believe in.”
Enjoying a morning paddle off of the coast of Vancouver Island!
Work with me!
I'm most interested in assisting organizations on an ongoing basis as a "Fractional CFO" - I maintain 4-5 clients at a time, providing financial expertise. I may have capacity for short term projects as well, such as a financial systems or team assessment, spin-out or audit readiness, or financial scenario planning.
