My favorite kind of project is:
a messy one. Good, smart, and kind people who care a lot can sometimes get themselves and their organizations into a pickle. I love pickles! And yes, I like them on sandwiches. But I also love helping people out of their metaphorical pickle. It comes from a belief that there is always a way out - we just have to find it. Everyone - and I mean everyone - has a valuable role to play in working through it. Sometimes folks just need a little help.
I love working with:
animals! But people are fine, too. Especially the kind of people who are great listeners, know how to turn ideas into action, and view our working relationship as a true partnership. I will never know a client organization as inimately as they know themselves. But I might be able to hold up a mirror at an angle that helps the organization see itself in a new way. This is sometimes scary but also illuminating. We need to interrogate why we're here and what we're all about - so I love it when people let me in fully so we can reveal the truth of what's going on. When we can tell the truth to ourselves about our situation, we are more than halfway there to finding a solution.
My fave ways to find joy + ease:
Everything salty. The ocean, margaritas, a salt scrub - even a salty attitude. The saltiest people in my life are often the truth tellers and I love spending time in the company of people who are keeping it real. Even the sweet things in life are better with a little dash of salt.

As soon as Kate described her work as focusing on mergers + acquisitions was about EXPANDING POSSIBILITIES, I knew she was a human we needed + wanted in the world.
