A smiling woman with shoulder-length dark hair looks at the camera. She is wearing a sleeveless purple patterned top, gold hoop earrings, and layered gold necklaces. The background appears to be an indoor event space with neutral-colored walls and stacked chairs.

What People Say about Katya’s Work

“Katya’s work starts in places the field hasn’t looked, and helps us all see and do differently as her ideas become the field’s common sense.”
— Cheryl Dorsey, Echoing Green

“Katya has a brilliant way of taking in a situation, really listening, checking her understanding, and in the most gentle, humble way imaginable, offering a reframe that reveals blind spots, and offers insights that blow your mind. This is her superpower.”
— Laura Zeilinger, former Director of Human Services, Washington DC

Why Helia LOVES Katya

We were introduced to Katya while she was sunsetting FFI as part of her starting to think about sharing the story and it was one of my MOST favorite conversations. Katya clearly is a doer who gets her hands in to make things happen – and is a leader who is constantly considering the why and what it all means and, most importantly, how are we doing the work and showing up in a way that is respectful and powerful and human, even when it looks completely different than anything you’ve ever seen before.
